The Green March
As I woke up, I adjusted the curtains to see the climate or weather, which is ̶ to be sure of what to bring. No one ever loves to be poured by the heavy rain or to have a heatstroke from the sun. The NSTP (National Service Training Program) as far as I know, it is a program that aims at enhancing consciousness and defence preparedness in the youth by developing the ethics of service and patriots. We are obliged to attend this GREEN MARCH, in my whole life, this is my first ever community service. All I could think about this green march is that we’ll clean the Quezon City Hall, plant some trees or something like the typical community service that the other schools performed. During the program proper, I was so pissed about the other sections. ‘Cause I can’t hear anything from Mr. Olaco’s instructions. All I know that is, we started walking around the circle. I wondered why we were walking in fact; we should be cleaning some grounds or doing something. I really wasn’t expecting that we will just walk around the circle. Anyway, after a minute my mood changed. While we were walking, we took a lot of pictures and our other blockmates were goofing around too, so I had fun. Plus, I learned from this green march that if you are a good Filipino citizen and could follow those simple rules knows how to listen and cooperate; I know that, we could have a brighter and better community. A good Filipino citizen is the one who plays an active and intelligent role as a member of the community. He is one who fulfils his duties and obligations to the government and society. He possesses the traits of respectfulness, courtesy and consideration for parents and elders and for others. He observes punctuality, promptness, and good moral conduct. Those statements above are the goals that the Green March walk is trying to foresee for us youths. Everything that is written here is what I gained from the walk.
